Converastion Snippets, Part II

With Sadie and Luanne on their way, I stop in at Meijer's to pick up staples not normally kept in my house (orange juice, fruit other than my regular lemons and limes, more salad fixings, etc.) and, in the paper products aisle (the same aisle as before!) the same guy comes up to me and asked me if I can help him out!!! Long time readers may remember, he had just lost his job after moving to the area and needed food for his family, yada, yada, yada...

Well, this time, he just spent all his money getting a treatment for his 8-year old daughter (and he showed me her picture) who's diabetic and now has no money for food!

I don't bother to mention our previous meeting (no point in embarrassing him) but give him ten dollars and tell him good luck.

But, although I'm sure I look like an easy mark (old white guy with a cane, and so on), the question remains: why that aisle? Is that like the only aisle NOT covered by the store cameras so they can't see this scam artist?

And, is he a scam artist, or just somebody down on his luck and making up stories that will help he get some money? Or, are his stories true and our recurring meetings a coincidence?

I dunno, but that's the last money I give him...
