Monday, moaning (really)

I woke up Monday morning to brutal cold (2 degrees F) and a very sore back. So sore, I could barely get out of bed; and I was very afraid Phase II would be getting those damn back spasms. Fortunately, although it ached the entire day, those never showed.

How did that happen? I really don't remember lifting anything that heavy on Sunday. I did clean the house, which in my case does mean a lot of bending and reaching with vacuum cleaner, electric sweeper, the dust mop and the wet mop. And, that certainly could have done it. I just don't know...

When I went to work, the garage door wouldn't open! I kept pushing the button, it tried to go up and down and finally it went up with a loud pop! I'll have to check that out after work. I need that garage!!!

I got home, got the mail from inside the car and pushed the garage door opener to get in. Same thing! After three or four tries, it "broke free" and went up. So, before I went in the house, I checked it out. There was a line of frozen mud/water along where the bottom seal touches the floor. So, I sprinkled rock salt along that line. Then I sprayed the rubber seal with WD-40 (which is supposed to displace water). Then I raised the door and stopped it as each panel started to open. I sprayed each wheel, hinge and the metal between the panels, also with WD-40, just in case there was water freezing somewhere. I'll have to wash the oil off the door panels, come Spring, of course.

Not feeling that perky, dinner was semi-homemade. I did cut the acorn squash in half, added butter and brown sugar and baked it at 375 degree F for over an hour. Meanwhile I sliced up some of the leftover roast beef, warmed it in the microwave and spread it on two pieces of bread. I topped it with store-bought beef gravy (about 1/4 of a jar). So, an open-faced, hot roast beef sandwich and half a baked acorn squash was dinner.

I did watch Family Guy before dinner. But, after eating, TV seemed like a bad thing for my back, so I got my book and read until about 9:00 PM. I took two Ibuprofen, turned off the light and went to sleep.
