... bakeries? Where did they go?
They seem to have all been replace by donut shops (Dunking Donuts, Tim Horton's, and so on)
When I worked for the bank (in my early twenties, so, maybe 30 years ago) and you had a morning meeting, you brought in pastry, not donuts! Does anybody besides me remember "Danish"? I'm talking prune, apple, apricot or (my personal favorite and I don't even like sweets!) cheese!
Or, strudel or cinnamon buns? How about every Easter and those Hot Cross buns?
Where the hell did all the bakeries go???
