Late-Night Monday

Monday night was drudge work. After surveying the kingdom, I decided to weed the raised bed garden (pretty easy, still) and the herb gardens (a lot harder). The herbs planted on the side of the reflecting pool has a lot of a particular weed who's name I cannot remember. I do remember that Luanne hated it out on Palms Road. It has very fine, fern-like leaves, but the insidious part is it travels underground. So, if you yank out the leaves, you are not stopping it. You have to get to the root and pull it out, following it wherever it goes (usually right through something else you've planted)!

I got back in the house around 7:00 PM and started to boil some seashell pasta for yet another tuna salad. I chopped up the scallions and celery, steamed the peas and shocked them and opened the tuna while waiting for the pasta to cool. Once everything was cool, I added the mayo, salt, pepper and dried thyme, mixed it well and covered it with Saran Wrap (as I said before, pressed right down on top of the salad to keep it moist).

The cats were each content with their empty tuna cans and were actually getting along together (for a change).

I cleaned up the mess and went in to watch some taped TV. I fell asleep during one show and woke up to find it had turned off and the Red Wings game was on. If the Red Wings win this game, they also win the championship. The score was tied, we were in sudden-death overtime (whoever scores the next goal is the winner, Mom) and it was very exciting play, so I started watching it. Would you believe it went into two more overtime sessions? Finally, the Penguins (our opponents) scored a goal, the series will go on and I could go to bed (sometime after 1:00 AM)!
