Wednesday

I had some errands to run after work, so I didn't get home until just before 6:00 PM. When I did get on my street, I had to dodge dump trucks and back hoes just to get into my driveway.

This morning, before going to work, and before the workers had arrived, I drove down to the end of my one-way street to see what was going on. They had started working on the North end of the street (and I'm at the South end) replacing the water main. Fortunately, the old water main seems to be on the other side of the street. So, there are gapping (maybe 20 feet in) torn-up spaces in everybody's lawn on the East side of the street. But, nothing yet on the West side.

So, I'm not sure just what will happen, but it seems like my side of the street will (hopefully) have minimal impact.

Once home and changed, and the cats given their treat, I looked outside to see what the weather was doing. It started out as a foggy day, then slipped into a cloudy, dreary day with occasional misty rains (no, Jake, not the stripper!) Right now, nothings going on. But, I did notice a newly yellowed lawn. I'm guessing, due to its configuration, that when I was carrying the herbicide sprayer out back, I accidentally sprayed the lawn a bit. I took a photo so you could see what I mean.

Back inside, I did my mid-week laundry. I had some tuna salad for dinner, along with one of the sub buns, sliced in half and toasted, then rubbed with a whole garlic clove.

I watched a couple of taped shows, waiting for Top Chef. During commercials, I'd switch over to the Red Wings game to see how they were doing. I decided NOT to stay up and watch the game, but fortunately, I did have to wake up for a bathroom trip around 12:30 AM. I turned on the TV just after the game must have ended and found the Red Wings had won the series and the Stanley Cup again!
I watched all the highlights (the winning goal was hilarious) and then went back to sleep.
