Wednesday was a nice day. Still warm, but the front that moved in last night (bringing those quick storms) also dropped the humidity. And, there is a good breeze. So, puffy white clouds, drier air and a nice breeze? I am happy!
When I got home, I immediately started the Wednesday night wash. While that was filling up, I changed clothes. I know I said I was going to weed all the gardens this week (and I still am), but curiosity got the better of me and I cleaned off (dusted) the two pictures that had always hung in my bedroom and hung them up. They look pretty good against the blue! Then, I took the stretched canvas painting Jake had done (I think when we were still in St. Clair) and hung that up as well.
So, at 6:30 PM, it's onto the garden effort! I got the wheel barrow from the back, my garden gloves and proceeded to weed the main front garden. The weeds I pull will go back to the compost heap to live again next year as nice, new dirt! Once I am done, I add some of the fertilizer I bought for the vegetable garden (12-12-12) and work it into the remaining soil.
I put the junk onto the compost heap, cover it with a shovel-full of fresh dirt, put the wheel barrow back and fill the bird feeder. I am out of suet (for a change) but figure it's not as critical right now, in the summer months, as it is in the winter. I go back inside and it's almost 8:30 PM!
I wash up and then start to think about dinner. I decide against dealing with the wash tonight, so I leave it in the washer. I will run it through the last rinse cycle tomorrow night, pop it in the dryer and hang it all up then. For my supper, I warm up two more hot dogs and eat them, watching the Wednesday night fights on ESPN. As usual, I fall asleep before the end of the program.
Just how long do these fights last that you never seem to be able to stay awake until the end?
ReplyDeleteWell, it starts at 9:00 PM and runs for three hours (or midnight) which is a little late for an old fart like me who has to get up at 5:30 AM.
