If you have been paying attention, any time I mention the state of the economy here in Michigan in my Blog, I get a raft of sh*t from my son and his ex-wife. Why, their house hasn't gone down in value, Governor Granholm has brought in tons of jobs (if only the stupid factory workers would go back to college and spend money they don't have to get them) and so on...
Well, I just saw a new Barack Obama ad, where they quote John McCain as saying how the economy is basically okay, but then they say, except for Michigan!
Get it together, liberals! Either Granholm and Kwame have been doing great, or, as we already know, they suck!!!
You see a raft of sh*t. I see a boatload of information. My goal was to help educate you on the nuances of the economic situation. It is difficult to have a conversation with you on these issues when you misunderstand the fundamentals.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, did you look at the links and articles? Do you have an informed opinion this time? Or are you merely reacting to a superficial political ad?
Be careful jwg. "Never argue with an idiot. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience."
ReplyDeleteYou should both be careful. IP addresses are logged and they make you both look silly. Even for those without the logs, 41 seconds is hardly enough time to be believable.
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, I stand by my assertion that those who have lost their manufacturing jobs should return to college under Granholm's tuition programs. Far from being "stupid factory workers", these are hardworking people. They deserve the break that Michigan's government is providing and can beat the odds by transitioning into the high tech economy.
ReplyDelete"The state's unemployment rate in July was 8.5%, the highest since late 1992. The report says the jobless rate among Michigan residents without high school diplomas hit 20% in 2007. The rate for those with a bachelor's degree or higher was less than 5%."

I, for one (and I do mean one, not "both"), think that you could start helping to fix Michigan's economy just by checking your voicemail, P.J. As much as you loathe your son and I, at least we spend time teaching your granddaughter how to actually solve problems -- instead of just bitch. She left you a message. :)
ReplyDeleteAu contraire, ma chere fille! I do NOT loathe either one of you. I rather enjoy your spirited attempts to defend the doomed socialist policies of the Democratic Party.
ReplyDeleteIn regards to Riese’s voicemail, that is odd. Because I always check my caller ID before going to bed and then upon arising and there was one call yesterday, but it was listed as a Blocked call (which I don’t answer). Hmmm... maybe it’s a conspiracy? I will check my voicemail after work, though.
Long story short, Riesey is participating in a fundraiser that helps out her school and, pending on the items, up to 14 -- non-government-owned -- Michigan businesses. I went through the catalog and listed all of the Michigan items, so Riese could relay them to you.

ReplyDeleteJYL what mean things to say for everyone to read - teaching your daughter aloha? You must care though, you read his blogs..
No worries, Hawaii. As Captain K himself loves to write on this blog, he "doesn't give a shit what [I] have to say" anyway. My daughter is not allowed to read those lines, either.
