Tuesday's Tale

When I took the trash out Tuesday morning, I noticed it had rained overnight. So, I walked around back and checked the rain gauge. I got about 1/8 inch of rain, so far. Yes, the stretch of summer-like days is over and it's supposed to be cloudy with occasional rain and much cooler for the next few days. Now, it feels like fall.

At lunch I took back the 38-inch mower blades to Lowe's in Westland and picked up the 42-inch blades at the other Lowe's in Canton (about 4 or 5 miles away from each other).

It sprinkled on and off all day, with the sun coming out every now and then. But, once I was home, it started raining for real just after 6:00 PM.

I went up in the attic and brought down the warming dish for Mom's birthday party. I could have sworn you could either use the one big inside pan or two smaller ones but I couldn't find the smaller ones anywhere. I wonder where they went...

I washed the downstairs bathroom's shower curtain, a bunch of kitchen towels and the main bathroom's throw rug. While that was working in the washer, I went out and installed the new mower blade. I hung the extra one up on the pegboard for the next time I need it.

Back inside, I washed up and warmed up the other two catfish filets and the leftover wild rice for dinner. Still tasted great, but I ran out of my Franks Red Hot Sauce midway through the meal. I checked the pantry and I was out! So, I tried this Chinese hot sauce I bought on Jake's recommendation. It was hot enough (OMG!) but had a different flavor than I am used to, so it didn't really work in this application. I think it's more for making Szechwan dishes.

I watched TV until 10:00 then read until I fell asleep.

  1. Rain Update: I went out (shivering in my thin robe! It's only 46 degrees F. in Redford this morning) to check the rain gauge. Since dumping it Tuesday morning, I received an additional 1/16 of an inch of rain.
