It was sunny but very windy on Wednesday. I had to go off-site during work twice and was surprised at how the wind buffeted the car.
I had a voicemail from my granddaughter, Riese. If you recall, she phoned me in February regarding a fund raiser for the March of Dimes. I had pledge a dollar for every book she read. So, I prepared a check as per her instructions and sent it off to her. She read 47, BTW! Good job!
Back home after work, I checked on the one daffodil that's about to bloom. It's not there just yet, but maybe tomorrow. Inspired, I did a quick review of all the gardens near the house.
As I said, the daffodils are coming up in the front garden. There has been no sign of the crocus, however. Perhaps the squirrels ate them (my Mom said they do that sometimes).
There are daffodils and hyacinths emerging in the garden along the side of the garage. The crocus I photographed in the garden on Jake's patio is still in bloom. The tulips (which haven't bloomed in years) and daffodils are coming up under the bushes on the north fence. Finally, the hyacinths are pushing through the mulch in St. Francis' garden.
Back inside, I started the Wednesday wash. I was a vegetarian for dinner, as I just ate all the remaining leftover side dishes (Brussels sprouts, squash and parsnips) I warmed up in the microwave.
I was in the mood for old movies, so I watched the last half of Patton and then Midway. Having my fill of World War II, I went to bed.
