Fantastic Friday

Friday started out a little cool but turned into a beautiful day. When I went home for lunch, I left my jacket there as it was already over 70 degrees F.

While looking for something else on the Internet, I happened to come across an advertisement for a walking tour of Royal Oak restaurants on Saturday. You went to 7-9 restaurants and ended up in what they called a local micro-brewery (which I assume is the one owned by my ex-neighbor's son, John). It was from 11:30 to 3:00 PM on Saturday and sounded interesting.

When I got home, I immediately changed clothes and went outside. First, I filled the bird feeder (I'm out of suet) and then checked the container gardens (they were all still damp). There was 1 1/2 inches of rain in the gauge that I dumped out, BTW.

Next, I added air to the one tractor tire, checked the oil and filled it up with gas. I spent the next two hours cutting the back lawn. It still needs trimming, but the bulk of the cutting was done.

Back inside, I went on the computer to check out the Royal Oak thing, and found that this Saturday was already all booked up. Damn! Oh, well, it's on every Saturday until September, apparently, so I'll try again some other day.

I ate leftovers for dinner and went to watch the Red Wings lose the last game of the finals. Depressed, I went to bed...
