Saturday

I woke up at 7:00 AM on Saturday. It was raining outside. I made a pot of coffee and stripped the bed. The bedding went in the wash, and then I got a cup of coffee and posted the Blog.

I was lazy and though I have errands to run, I didn't feel like doing them in the rain. But, the rain finally let up around 9:00 AM, so I hopped in the shower. I cleaned up and hit the road. I stopped at Home Depot and then made a completely wasted trip to Gordon Food Service (GFS).

Why wasted? Well, a while back, I mentioned to Jake that I was looking online for some racks that would fit my half-sheet pans. The next time he went to the GFS in Canton (by his house), he called and told me that they now have them. But, when I went to mine today (in Livonia, by me) they didn't. I even asked a stock boy if they had them somewhere else, explaining my son said the Canton store carried them. He explained that no two GFS stores carry the same items. Stupid! So, it was a wasted trip.

Then I went to Kroger's for my grocery shopping. I didn't have a lot of items I needed and so it was just mostly shopping off their sales flyer. So, minus the veggies that I only buy at Westborn, I spent $83.00 US for two weeks worth of meals.

I got home just after noon and treated the cats (they are now hard-wired into the belief that if the garage door goes up and down, they deserve treats) and unloaded the groceries. I put them all away, checked the caller ID and returned a call (but I just got their voicemail). Since I was sitting on the couch anyway, I spent some time petting Caley, who crawled on my lap when I was making my phone call (did I mention I'm feeling lazy today?)

Finally, guilt got the better of me and, after making my bed up, I started cleaning the house. But I had the TV on and kept stopping to watch cooking shows.

It was still cloudy and overcast, so I didn't feel like working outside.

My friend called back, so I talked to him for a while. Then I took a long nap.

Instead of the elaborate meal I'd originally planned, I settled for the blue box of mac and cheese. I ate that watching the first two parts of the anniversary production of the mini-series "Lonesome Dove," which I'd never seen, back in the day (the next two parts are on Sunday night). After that, it was late and I went to bed...
