I know you thought I would say, "Tale" right? Well, alliteration will only take you so far, my friend...
I didn't set the alarm last night, because I have an MRI scheduled this morning at 9:00 AM in Southfield (it's for my shoulder). So, I woke up at 6:30 and, basically, lollygagged around. I toasted the last of the sourdough English muffins for my breakfast and ate that, buttered, with a cup of instant coffee.
I thought I'd check my phone's voicemail to see if anyone had called after I went to bed (they sometimes do) and found, instead, the MRI place had called at 6:00 PM (when I was out weeding). The message was they have to reschedule me and to call and set up another time!
Oh, shit!
Now, I am late for work! So, I put it into overdrive and got shaved, showered, dressed, the garbage taken out to the road (thank God I'd collected it all last night) and made it to work at 7:59 AM. Whew!
I called the place after 9:00 AM (I don't know when they open) and got the next available appointment: 6:30 AM on Tuesday the 16th (think about that for just a moment).
At lunch, I went to Westborn for this week's apples and some veggies: vine-ripened tomatoes, a head of cauliflower, some sweet potatoes, mushrooms and some Georgia Vidalia onions. I love those things! When they are in season, they are my go-to onions; otherwise I like to use red onions for my raw needs and yellow onions when I cook soups and stews.
I got home and got in the mail. It's an absolutely gorgeous day, BTW. At 5:00 PM, it was 75 degrees F., with a nice little breeze.
I changed my clothes and sorted through the mail. One of the envelopes I opened was a graduation announcement for my niece Linda's daughter Chelsea. It had a striking picture of her (I think my sister-in-law Coletta told me she has recently been doing some modeling), but the weird part was I got it today, June 9, and the commencement ceremony was June 7th. Anyway, congratulations, Chelsea!
After I straightened up the kitchen, it was just 6:00 PM and I went out to plant the front garden. It was long over-due.
I got it planted (it looks nice. I'll take a picture for you after I get the front grass cut) and went back inside. It was almost 7:30 PM. My daughter Melissa called and we chatted for a while.
I made some Campbell's tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich (on Oatnut bread) and watched the Wings lose game 6.
Oatnut bread?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's made by Brownberry and is the only whole grain bread I actually like.
