I can't remember having a longer night than I did last night! I don't think I slept more than an hour at a stretch (usually 15-30 minutes at a time).
I finally gave up completely at 5:00 AM, got up and made a pot of coffee. I put on some shorts and then took the garbage out to the road. Since I was out there anyway, I turned on the sprinkler to water the newest grass seed.
I cleaned up the kitchen a bit and then went out to turn off the water. I am starting to leave bits and pieces of my bandage "collage" here and there (mostly in the bed). But, tomorrow I get to take it all off, cover the four incisions with waterproof bandages the doctor sent home with me and finally take a shower!
My appetite seems to be returning. So, at 11:00 AM, I warmed up one of the boneless, skinless chicken thighs I'd grilled on Sunday. I put some mayonnaise on a hamburger bun, added the chicken and ate an excellent lunch. My marinade was spot on!
Jake stopped by during his lunch, so I asked him to dump the ice cube trays and fill the Velcro icepack the doctor had also sent home. He figured out how it attached to my bandage. Next I asked him to wind up the mantle clock. Then he left (probably in self-defense!)
I spent most of the afternoon trying to take a nap but all I could accomplish was that now-annoying dozing!
I didn't feel much like eating. In fact I felt quite queasy. So, I ate a few soda crackers and called it dinner. I watched TV until I really started to doze and then relocated to my old recliner (I already had a blanket and a glass of water out there). I turned off all the lights and went to sleep.
Still a lot of pain? Pills helping?
