The alarm reluctantly dragged me back to the land of the living on Monday morning. It was another rough night. I swear I haven't slept more than two hours in a row since last Thursday.
Despite the weatherman's prediction, it was mostly another gloomy day and never got above the mid 50's here.
At lunchtime, I went to Kroger's to do my grocery shopping. When I got it home, I put away the items that needed to be refrigerated, but left everything else out on the counters.
So, the first thing I did when I got home after work was to put away the remaining groceries. Then I returned my daughter Melissa's call (she had called a little after 4:00 PM, thinking I was still off on medical leave).
We only talked briefly (which was good, I still had stuff to do around here) until Dave got home from work.
After we hung up, I got down to it. I moved all the kitchen chairs, the rolling cart and the trash basket into the living room. Then I swept the kitchen, the downstairs room and the downstairs bathroom.
I filled my bucket with hot water and Top Job (lemon-scented, of course) and washed the bathroom and downstairs floors. I emptied the now disgustingly dirty water and refilled the bucket with fresh soap and water in the kitchen sink. Then I washed the kitchen floor.
So, then I was trapped. I couldn't make or eat supper until the kitchen floor dried. I grabbed my book and lay on the bed and started reading.
A friend called and we talked for a bit. When we hung up, the floor was dry!
By then it was late and I wasn't feeling that ambitious, so I make a can of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for dinner. Nothing sounded interesting on TV, so I watched a couple taped shows and then went to bed at 10:00 PM.
