Saturday, Getting It Done

I got up at 6:30 AM on Saturday. Finally, a good night's sleep!

I started the weekend wash after putting on a fresh pot of coffee. Since I didn't do the mid-week wash, I have three loads to do today. I was lying on the couch, drinking coffee and listing to "Saturday Morning, Over Easy" when a thought occurred to me: how the hell did they make cove ceilings, back in the old days?

Now, my house was built back in the 50's and is wet plaster, not drywall. So, did they curve the lath strips and then plaster them, or did they just use a ton of plaster and shape that? I dunno...

Another random thought (couches are good for that): I've seen a lot of little planes pulling banners in my time. But, I've never actually seen a sky-writing plane. When did they stop doing that?

I hung up the first batch of laundry, transferred the second to the dryer and then took my shower. After I got dressed, I washed the third load (my bathrobe, the bath towel and the bath mat from the downstairs bathroom)

I did a little straightening up in between making the bed and hanging or folding laundry. Then at 5:30 PM I started watching the movie "The Rock" starring Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage. When that was over, I made my dinner: tuna and peas served on egg noodles.

I went to bed at 11:00 PM.
