TGI (chilly)F

Friday morning, I did something I hadn't done in a long, long time: I turned off the alarm and went back to sleep! I woke up at 7:45 AM and freaked!! I am supposed to be at work at 7:00 AM, you see.

So, I shaved, took a quick shower and hurriedly got dressed. While dressing, the phone rang. It was Jake, checking up on why I wasn't at work (I appreciate that!) I reassured him I was still alive, just late. It made me laugh, because when I got to work, I still beat both my boss and the department Director in.

It was another long, boring day (this is the traditional time of the year in the automotive world where everything is on hold, waiting for next year's budget, so major programs are few and far between). But, it was finally 5:00 PM and the weekend officially started.

I grabbed the mail, got in the garage, closed the door against the cold and then treated the cats.

I changed into my thick robe and started the weekend laundry (shirts, pants and socks from this week's work). I finished loading the dishwasher and fired that puppy up. My furnace was valiantly fighting to get the temperature up (its 21 degrees F. or -6 C. out there) so when I put the clothes in the dryer, I set the stove timer and covered up in bed, watching some taped shows.

When the timer went off, I went out and hung up my shirts and pants. I started thinking about dinner, but wasn't really inspired. So, I opened a can of Hormel chili instead and warmed it up. One nice thing about eating that for dinner is, an hour or so later, the cats leave the bedroom for the evening. It's good to have some alone, "me" time.

My friend B___ called around 9:00 PM and we caught each other up on the past week's events. I watched a couple more taped shows and went to bed at 11:30 PM.
