Wednesday, Visiting...

I woke up at 7:00 AM on Wednesday. I shaved and showered and got dressed. Then I started the Wednesday wash (I figured the washer and dryer are at the other end of the house, so it shouldn't wake my houseguests up).

I made a pot of coffee and sat in the living room reading (again) until they woke up around 9:00 AM. Then I filled in the Blog.

We sat in the living room, talking and eating breakfast for a while. They had their usual unrecognizable "stuff" and I made myself scrambled eggs. After a while, they took their showers and took care of miscellaneous things (a couple loads of their laundry, etc.).

The plan was to spend this day playing cards and Scrabble so we each had several snacks to contribute and Lu was going to make a Pumpkin and Black Bean soup for dinner.

But, Jake called Lu around one o'clock and invited us over for a visit and so that Lu and Sadie could see their house. I called him back and told him not to plan for any snacks as we had tons and would just bring ours. So, we did.

We got there at 3:05 PM (five minutes late, but nobody busted Lu and Sadie's chops, like they do mine) and got the grand tour. Then we set out all the snacks and ate some of it. Lu and Sadie gave Jake and Carla their Christmas gifts.

Then Jake and Carla suggested playing a game called Phase 10 Twist. They had gotten a book about that lion that was returned to the wild (you probably saw it on YouTube, when the previous owners met up with him in Africa), so I volunteered to sit out and look at the pictures.

The pictures were numerous and fascinating, so I read a few of the chapters near the end to see how it all turned out. They were still playing, so I started reading the first few chapters. After the game ending they switched to that card game, Skip Bo. So, I kept reading (I was quite comfortable, lying on the couch with classical music softly playing). The next thing I knew, I had finished the whole book!!!

Jake offered to put on a movie, or let me sit in on the game, but I declined both. I just lay on the couch, petting the dog, until it was time to go. We packed up our stuff and left about 8:00 PM.

When we got back home I was tired so, I got ready for bed. Lu and Sadie were organizing they stuff and then began to read in the living room. I began to read in my bedroom until I started nodding. Then I shut off the light and went to sleep.
