Oh God it was hot and muggy out there this morning. It felt like you got slapped in the face with a hot, wet towel when you went outside. The weather was supposed to be steamy all day with afternoon and night-time pop-up thunderstorms.
And, that turned out to be true. It started about 1:00 PM. The clouds would thicken, it would thunder and the rain would come down in buckets. Weird thing was it would only last about 5 - 10 minutes!
Back at home after work, I changed clothes and decided to take the night off. So, I read on the couch, sat on the porch whenever it was raining, called a friend and eventually made dinner.
Laurie at work brought me more summer squash and a cucumber. The cucumber was made into a sandwich for lunch, and the squash fried for dinner.
I noticed when out on the porch that the thunder always seemed to be coming from the south of here, so I imagine places like Westland, Garden City and Inkster got hit worse than here in Redford. I was curious, so I went out in the dark to check the gauge. Between yesterday and today I had over one inch of rain!
