Thursday

Well, I went back to work on Thursday (for a change). Not much different than the last time I was there.

It was very hot and muggy (especially when I went home at lunchtime). Speaking of lunchtime, I decided to do something different and went to McDonald's and bought a Big Mac. Now, I rarely eat fast food, but there's nothing much in the house.

However, what was supposed to be a treat turned into a trick! Instead of the crunchy lettuce and crisp pickles I remembered, this one was mostly the two patties of beef and the "special sauce." By the time I got halfway through eating it, everything was sliding around and getting messy. I threw it away in disgust.

It started sprinkling around here about 3:00 PM. It continued to lightly rain off and on through most of the evening. I checked the gauge Friday morning, but we only got less than a half inch of rain. That's a bummer, as the heat's been brutal on the garden and lawn.
