Wednesday, we were back to hot and steamy here. I went to Home Depot at lunch to pick up the evergreen spikes I wanted.
So, after work, I changed clothes and headed outside. Well, that's where I was headed when the phone rang. It was my daughter Melissa, so I HAD to talk, right?
It was funny, as my main goal tonight is to get the front garden weeded, and that's what she was doing! But since the temperature down there is like 5+ degrees warmer than here, she had to take a break halfway through. I also have an abundance of something she doesn't: shade!
But, I eventually got outside. First I put in the evergreen fertilizer spikes (two in the big bush, one by the arbor vitiae and one by the little guy next to the dryer vent out back). I'll do the arbor vitiae behind the St. Francis garden tomorrow.
Then I bent over and started weeding. I'd pull them out and stick them in the wheel barrow. I'm sure I didn't get them "all" but I made a damn good try! I dumped the refuse on the compost pile, buttoned everything up and went back inside.
I warmed up the leftover potatoes and sausage and ate that watching TV. I dozed off before 10:00 PM when a favorite show comes on but that's okay, I tape it anyway.
