Weekend Edition

I spent Saturday morning cleaning up the house (and it needed it!) I took a nap and when I woke up, my cousin was here. Of course, it was a useless trip. The moment she saw the canoe, she knew it wouldn't work. I'm glad now I didn't take it down, because it would have just been in my way until she comes up with something else.

I didn't really have much time for making dinner Saturday, so I just ate leftovers. I talked with Melissa for a while

Sunday morning, I made biscuits and white sausage gravy for breakfast. I ate too much and watched too much TV. I am enjoying the time off (in a clean house)! I had a nice chat with my friend B___, who warned me of possible rain, later.

I started cutting the front lawn with the push mower. I got the side done and came inside for a bathroom break. I heard somebody knocking on the door, but when I went to the front, there was nobody there! I realized it was somebody knocking on the garage door.

It was my neighbor, Tammy, who had two fresh-picked cucumbers and a hot dish of stuffed cabbage. It was also raining, so the idea of cutting the rest of the lawn is gone.

I resigned myself to my fate and ate the stuffed cabbage. It was really good!

I watched my usual Sunday night shows and, about 10:00 PM, made myself a cucumber sandwich.

  1. Wow I want to answer my door and get food, nice neighbors!! Lucky You! I got so much summer squash and zucchini I end up taking it with me to Curves and it goes quick, luckily Theresa who works there likes them big so she can batter and fry so everybody wins, I hate throwing out food.

  2. Yes, I do have nice neighbors. I usually take my excess food to an old widow woman across the way.

I was going to join a local Curves (figuring it would be a good way to meet chicks) but then decided it looks like it is women ONLY.
