Another Chilly Day

Thursday was cool again. I think we have definitely turned the corner and are heading for fall.

I don't think I mentioned it, but I am very disappointed in that so-called "mailbox mix" seed packet I planted in the mailbox tub this spring. It was supposed to have like 10 different types of flowers, some short, some tall and even some climbing ones.

One type did actually flower (I took pictures of them) but the rest never did. So, the whole thing looked like a bunch of weeds.

Today at lunch, I picked up some small mums. I also swung by the Feed Store and bought some more bird seed. When I got home from work, I cleaned out the tub and planted the mums (see photos). You can also see the couch somebody kindly donated to the vacant lot south of me (I emailed the Township about it, BTW).

I lugged the 40 pounds of bird seed out back, filled up the feeder and then buttoned everything up for the night.

I warmed up the last of the mashed potatoes and more turkey slices (this time I did it right) and also steamed some frozen sweet corn for my supper.

I watched some taped TV shows for a bit, but went to bed at 10:00 PM.
