Thursday's Tale

It was warm again on Thursday, here. I mean sun roof open, window down, warm.

Back in the day (in my 20's) there was a Howard Johnson's at the end of I-94 in Port Huron. They have been out of business for years, but back then they offered "all-you-can-eat" fried clam strips on Fridays. I used to go there with my friend B___ and devour tons of them. I don't know why, but I've been thinking about them a lot.

The trouble is, I haven't seen them on any menu for years (much less "all-you-can-eat"), much less at any of the grocery stores.

So, today at lunch, I went to Gordon Food Service (GFS) and inquired if they had any for sale. Unfortunately (for my health, I suppose), GFS primarily services restaurants. So, while they did carry them, I had to buy a six pound box of them!

I also bought two bags of frozen cauliflower and a bag of breaded onion rings.

When I got home after work, the first thing I did was to turn on the air compressor. I added air to the car tires and (more importantly) to the lawn tractor. I checked the oil and gas in the lawn tractor and then cut the back yard lawn. I finished up around 6:30 PM.

Back inside, I did the Wednesday night wash a day late. I ate a sandwich for dinner and watched TV until 11:30 PM. Then I went to bed.
