Thursday was incredibly warm (it got into the mid-50s) but it didn’t feel like it because of the wind. It did however melt more of the snow. I can see large patches of lawn out back.
The problem in the front yard, though, is the two mounds of snow from when my neighbor plowed me out. He put them in the ditch on both sides of the culvert and the melting snow has nowhere to go. So, my drive is a pond now during the day but it will be an ice rink when it freezes. And the temps are supposed to fall back to normal over the weekend.
When I got home after work, I treated the cats and then went out back and refilled the bird feeder. For the first time in a long time, I was able to sprinkle seed on the ground (I got ground!) for the mourning doves.
Back inside, I resumed the housecleaning I’d started Wednesday. Yesterday I straightened and dusted the entire house (for a change). Today, I vacuumed, swept and mopped all the floors except for the kitchen. I also washed the glass tabletops in the living room before I quit for the night.
I warmed up the last of the shrimp scampi, topped it with Parmigiano-Reggiano and ate that watching TV. I was tired, though, and went to bed early.
