Finally Friday...

It was 20 degrees F. when I woke up this morning (we’re having a heat wave; a tropical heat wave...) But although it would eventually become sunny, it was still windy and cold.

I had lunch at the Livonia Buddy’s Pizza. The IT department (well, most of them) had gathered there for a going away luncheon for one of our techs (hey, any excuse to party, right?)

As I’ve said before, I am not a fan of thick crust pizza like Buddy’s makes, so I had a cup of minestrone soup and an antipasto salad. The soup was excellent, thick and rich. The salad was a bit disappointing. It was big enough (I didn’t finish it) but the salami and ham were just deli slices, cut into squares; not the cubes you would expect. And, there was no pepperoncini! How can you claim it to be an antipasto salad without pepperoncini!!

And, they had ginger ale. Ginger ale is just about the only soft drink I like (I prefer Canada Dry). But they kept refilling my glass, which meant I had to make two trips to the restroom while I was there (embarrassing).

Since I was down there anyway, I went to the old building to check on my job site. That was a good thing as I found our Telecom guy wandering around in the wrong place, trying to find the phone jacks I’d asked him to cross connect (the location of which I had carefully explained on the phone to him earlier). But, we got it straight and (hopefully) he got it done.

I worked right up to 5:00 PM (it was a very busy day) and then went home. I did have to stop at CVS to pick up my reduced cholesterol medicine.

But, I eventually got home and didn’t get stuck getting the mail, so I was grateful and now the weekend beckons!

I took out some bacon to thaw (I decided I need some black pepper and bacon drop biscuits with that bean soup). So, for tonight’s dinner, I made tuna and peas, served over egg noodles (sorry, Mom).

I started watching Terminator 2 (the only one I like) but fell asleep somewhere along the line. I woke up (wide awake) at 2:00 AM and watched taped cooking shows until 4:00 AM and then went to bed for real.
