Is it Monday (again)?

I made some real progress on two of my projects on Monday, so I was feeling very pleased on my way home after work. I noticed when I pulled in that the daffodils were starting to bloom, so I did a field trip and a mini-photo shoot. The hyacinths are just about ready, too.

Back inside, I decided to tackle the one ToDo item that I passed on this weekend. I got out the vacuum and cleaned the cat hair off the living room rug.

Then I moved all five kitchen chairs into the living room, along with the rolling cart and the trash.

I swept the kitchen and vacuumed the two downstairs walk-off rugs. Next, I filled a bucket with hot water and Pine-Sol and washed the kitchen floor. I was trapped then and could only got to my bedroom, the office, the main bath and (by taking a big giant step) the living room.

I just missed the NBC Nightly News (dammit) so I watched some taped TV for a couple hours until the floor dried. Then I put everything back. I shredded another chicken thigh and used the meat to make a chicken sandwich with sourdough bread, mayo and salt.

I ate my dinner watching TV and went to bed about 10:30 PM.

  1. Sounds like you started spring cleaning early. Our hot water heater (over 20 years old) broke and the next day after we had a company come clean up water our well tank burst!!!! Luckily it did not go into walls except for a 1 foot piece of dry wall in my husband's office, all computers safe but all carpet ripped out. So the nicest days we've had so far have been spent dealing with water damage and clean up. Today the new hot water heater goes in. And the cherry on the cake of my day it's supposed to snow Thursday or Friday. But everyday above ground is a damn good day. Hope you have great day!

  2. No, not Spring cleaning yet, just routine maintenance.

Bummer about your water problems! I guess when it rains, it pours (or in your case, snows!)
