I woke up to a sunny Sunday. I was more hungry than thirsty for coffee, so I made three soft-boiled eggs for breakfast. I ate them on the couch, listening to Sunday Morning, Over Easy. When I rinsed out the bowl, I made a half-pot of coffee.
I kicked the cats off the bed and stripped it. I put the bedding into the wash machine and got that going.
I swept the office, my bedroom, the hall and the upstairs bath. Then I washed the tile floor in the bathroom.
While that was drying, I put the bedding in the drier. I watched a few taped cooking shows until it was all done. Then I made up the bed.
My friend B___ called and told me how warm it was outside (I hadn't even thought about going out, nor did I look at the thermometer). So, I opened all the windows and shut off the furnace to air out the house.
For dinner, I put half a stick of butter in the small saucepan and added one cup of white rice. I tossed that about until every rice grain was coated. Then I added in some dried parsley, dried thyme, frozen chives and two cups of water. I brought that to a boil and simmered it until it was done.
I warmed up two chicken thighs and ate that with the rice as a side dish for my Sunday supper.
I watched some TV and fell asleep around 10:00 PM. When I got up for a bathroom break, I set the remote and my glasses on the dresser, shut off the lights and went to sleep for real.
