Slipping and Sliding

The weather was incredible on Monday. It went back and forth from bright sunlight to horrible thunderstorms.

When I was driving back to work from lunch, It started raining so hard, the wipers (on high) couldn’t keep the windshield clear. And, the storm drains couldn’t handle the water so I either drove or alternatively hydroplaned all down 6-Mile Road (from Inkster to Farmington Road). But, the rain had already stopped (thank goodness) when I got out of the car back at work.

All afternoon, we had either sunshine or showers. Going home after work, it was sunny until about the last 10 minutes of my drive. Then it just poured again. Once inside, I checked the rain gauge (with my binoculars) and I had just over two inches of rainfall (so far)!

I talked with B___ and he said his lawn had dried out enough that he cut it this evening! But, I’ve got standing water everywhere (and puddles in the driveway where I never get puddles).

I fried up an eggplant for dinner and ate most of it. Damn! That was good! I watched a movie and went to bed at 11:00 PM.

  1. Don't feel bad, I was in the middle of cutting the back (still wet from last rain) when that storm came through...got about 1 - 1 1/2 inches more water sitting...maybe we can cut on the 4th of July

  2. Or, maybe we just borrow a few goats from Lu and turn them loose in our yards?
