Thursday was really hot and steamy in Michigan. So, when I got home after work, I really didn’t want to cut the front lawn. I almost talked myself out of doing it, but then I decided I had to “get ‘er done”. So, after the evening news was finished, I got out the push mower and cut the grass in front. I’ll do the back over the weekend. I ended up overheated and sweaty, but the grass looks good!
Afterwards, I fired up the charcoal chimney. By the time the coals were ready, it was getting dark. So, I turned on the patio light and grilled five ears of Michigan sweet corn and two steaks (one was a T-Bone and the other a Porterhouse). I was going to go with the Montreal Steak seasoning, but then decided to be different. So, after patting them dry with a paper towel, I seasoned them with sea salt, fresh ground black pepper and a little garlic powder.
I ate most of the Porterhouse (it was perfect) and three ears of sweet corn. And now I have leftovers for the weekend!
Why did you pat the steaks with a paper towel?
ReplyDeleteYou get a better char on the grille if they are dry.
