Wet Wednesday

It was cold and raining when I took the garbage out to the road Wednesday morning (not hard, but steady). And, it rained for most of the day (much harder in the mid-afternoon).

After work, I did go out back (it was more of a light drizzle then) to refill the bird feeder (per my normal schedule). I checked, but did not empty the rain gauge. I have just over 1/2 inch of water so far.

Back inside, I watched the nightly news until 7:00 PM. Then I made myself a grilled cheese sandwich and some tomato soup (hey, it feels like Fall out there).

There is something from my childhood that I like about tomato soup. I keep thinking its something made from Chef Boyardee (or maybe it’s spaghettios) but there was something from a can my Mom used to make that had a sweet tomato-based sauce. Anyway, tomato soup reminds me of that.

I ate dinner watching a really bad remake (1966) of the John Ford classic (1939) movie, “Stagecoach.” The only thing that saved it was a very young, very beautiful Ann Margaret.

I went to bed when it was over at 10:30 PM, but was up half the night with insomnia.

Speaking of older actresses, I watched a Steven Segal movie over the weekend, “Hard to Kill.” His costar was Kelly LeBrock (I think he was married to her, actually). She had a short career (I don’t think she made more that, say 10 movies), but if you ever watched “Weird Science” you know who I’m talking about.
