Monday, again...

I woke up tired and sore on Monday morning. I must have dawdled in the shower (but the hot water beating on my back felt sooo good) because when I got out, it was later than usual. So, I hustled and made it to work right on time. I think that was the last time I hustled all day, since for the rest of the day, I was only able to move slowly.

I stopped at Meijer’s on the way home at lunchtime and bought some paper plates (I forgot them at Kroger’s). Once home, I warmed up a brat and ate it with the rest of that pasta salad. I still had a little time, so I stopped at the quarter carwash, not to wash the car, but to vacuum it out. I had azalea petals on the passenger side floor and mulch, dirt and patio stone dust in the trunk. Since I just paid to make it nice, I wanted to keep it that way as long as I can.

It was a gorgeous day here in Southeast Michigan. I only wish I felt better, so I could do some work outside! But, I don’t, so I didn’t.

I did get the garbage bags out to the road. And, I remembered something that I wanted to do yesterday, but never got to. I had noticed that the fire pit fills with water every time it rains. Since it’s rather cheaply made, I am sure it won’t take long before it rusts. So, I got the drill motor and a 1/4-inch bit and drilled some drainage holes in the bottom of it. I think that’s a small enough hole that a burning coal won’t fall through and catch the lawn on fire or something. And, it may enable it to last more than just one season.

Back inside, I noticed I’d spilled something on the floor during yesterday’s marathon grilling session. So, I got out the Wet Jet and cleaned the kitchen floor.

Carla called and we chatted for a while (long enough that the kitchen floor dried, thankfully).

Then I was done. I warmed up some ribs and an ear of corn and ate dinner. I finally took off my brace and went to bed for the evening.
