It was another lovely day on Thursday. Way too nice to be at work, especially because now they are predicting occasional rain throughout the Memorial Day weekend!
I had to call my brother Carl to get an address from him and he did ask about my weekend plans. We both decided it would only be fitting to go out to the cottage, turn the water on, get the raft in the water, etc. We just don’t know if the new owners would appreciate the gesture.
I had to go to CVS at lunch, so I also got some gas in the car and stopped at Taco Bell. I picked up two hard shell tacos and a burrito supreme. I ate them at home but both my co-workers and I regretted it later in the afternoon.
I also had to call the spine doctor who had my appointment on the 29th of this month rescheduled to the 5th of next month. That means, even if he lets me take the brace off and lose the walker, it will be about a week later than I hoped for.
Back at home after work, I watered the planters in the front yard and those begonias I just planted. I noticed the clematis in front is starting to bloom, but I deliberately didn’t take a picture of it. I learned my lesson from the yellow iris and will wait until its all in bloom, instead of posting way too many boring photos.
Since it was so nice out, I lit some charcoal. I still have three onion sandwich rolls left and thought I’d make three hamburgers out of the last pound of ground chuck. I seasoned the patties on both sides with just salt and pepper.
I grilled the first side for about five minutes (until they had a nice char) and then flipped them. About two minutes later I added a slice of American cheese to each one. When that had melted I pulled them off, leaving two to cool and put the other one on an onion roll. I added some deli mustard and ate it along with the rest of the pasta salad, for dinner. The burger was perfectly done (for me, anyway).
B___ called and we compared notes. Then I watched some TV, but turned in early again.
