  2. Nope! No way! The reason the tree was dying is that's where my sewer line runs and I had to cut through the roots at least once, sometimes twice a year.

I would like to replace it with a nice big bush, like those that lined the east side of the driveway on 24 Mile Road. I just don't know what they were called.

But, remember, there's a struggling forsythia at the end of the row of tiger lilies.

    Any suggestions?

  3. Those were overgrown Spirea (old fashioned white)and a overgrown forsythia then the Spruce trees...if my OLD memory serves me well...
    Are you feeling better?
p.s. that's full sun isn't it? Lowes (and other stores) have "Red knockout roses on sale...Beautiful deep red and they really bush up and bloom most of the summer. I know, I bought one. If that's too tall (3-4 feet), they also have "drift" roses, again bush, but max out at 16-18 inches. Just a thought
