Wednesday

It was an absolutely perfect day weather-wise on Wednesday here in Southeast Michigan.

For a change, I had nothing to do at lunchtime, so I went home, made a sandwich and watched a taped DIY show (if you fast-forward through commercials you can watch a half hour show in less than 20 minutes).

On the way back to work, I stopped to put gas in the loaner car and spent a good five minutes trying to figure out how you open the fuel door! In my defense, I have only seen ones that open somewhere either next to the seat or under the dash. This one is a button up on the dash with a little gas pump sign on it (Duh!)

It was a long, boring afternoon (I think because it was so nice outside) that culminated with our long-time receptionist, Cindy, being fired (for coming in late too many times). That bummed everyone out. I not only knew her well, but knew both her daughters and her grandson, from his birth to his one year old birthday a few months back.

When I got home, I did the Wednesday night wash. When it was in the dryer, I set the oscillating sprinkler in the front yard (for the new rose bush and grass seed) and set the timer for an hour. I had a voicemail from the dealership that my car was ready, so I’ll get it tomorrow.

I hung up my shirts and pants and, when the timer went off, I moved the sprinkler to the back to water the gardens around the reflecting pool.

I talked with Jake who called to ask if I got the first three seasons of Breaking Bad they had ordered for me. I said, “No,” so he told me to check on the front porch. Sure enough, there they were! Thanks!

He had already been sent a text from a co-worker about Cindy being let go so we talked about that a bit before we hung up.

I warmed up another bowl of spaghetti with meatballs for my dinner.

I shut the water off under the security lights, so I just repositioned the sprinkler to water the new garden behind the house, but didn’t turn it on.

I made up that faux Roka Blue cheese spread recipe Jyl has sent me and, with the optional splash of vinegar, it tasted spot on.

I ate it with Triscuits (certainly not traditional) and probably ate too much, but it was so good!

I went to bed early without breaking out the Breaking Bad DVDs. I may have a marathon this weekend, though, lol!
