Foggy Days and Mondays...

Monday was a repeat of the heavy fog and freezing temps. This time was different though, as I had left the car outside and had to scrape the windows before I could leave for work (I should have thought that one through, I guess).

At lunchtime, I went to Westborn to get the veggies for my Thanksgiving sides. I wanted to wait so they’d be fresh, but not so long that the store would be crowded or, worse yet, sold out.

Since I was there anyway, I bought a container of bean with ham soup for my lunch. When I got home, I put everything away and ate the soup. I was surprised at how hot it still was. I burned my tongue on it!

Once I got home after work, I took the garbage out to the road. Then I finished the weekend wash by doing the bedding. While that was going through its cycles, I put the caulk on the register and took some pictures of the unpainted project, as well as the herb drying rack (after I went outside and got some herbs in to demonstrate).

I got my first Christmas card! And, I thought I was always early! It was from the “Garcia Family” and I did appreciate it coming as I was going to ask Jeremy or Jyl for Joe’s address so I could send them a card.

I warmed up some brats, some leftover potatoes and some sauerkraut for my dinner.

I had to wait for the caulk to dry before I can paint in the bathroom, so I had the rest of the night off!

I made up the bed and then settled in to watch the first half of “The Dust Bowl,” a Ken Burns documentary on PBS that I taped Sunday night. The other half was on and taping tonight. It really was fascinating and had old films, photos and stories from several survivors of what they were calling the largest man-made ecological disaster ever.

When it ended, I set the alarm and went to sleep.
