Per request, Carl V's paragraph...

Your great-grandmother was an enigma. The only daughter of a wealthy family, she dressed in the latest fashions and knew all the popular dances in the 1920s. Yet, she gave it all up to marry a German immigrant and move to a farm out in the country. She had a love for books that she passed along to me (there was always a library in her houses). But, I think the greatest gift she gave me was her sense of wonder and adventure. I remember one night, coming down the stairs from the apartment my father and I built for me over the garage and seeing literally thousands of fireflies dancing all over the fields. I went inside the main house and told my parents. My father said something about having seen them before, but my mother dried her hands on a dishrag and followed me outside. We stood there in silence for about 10 minutes, just watching. Then she patted me on the arm and said, “Thanks!” That was your great-grandmother.

    Dad,
Thanks!!!! I never knew Grandma was from a wealthy family. Thanks for doing that. Sorry I gave Jake a mini stroke!!!!! Have a great day! BTW while walking the dog at the hotel at 4 am sirens started going off and we were evacuated (Our room was on 5th floor) My husband who can sleep thru anything was pissed and thought I was playing a game on the computer until he smelled smoke and decided to go downstairs. Anyways we're home safe and sound and tired of road trips!!!!
