What pray tell are you doing here? You know, for about $8 you could buy a super efficient LED bulb and not mess with the weird (never saw one before) bulb you bought and save money too. Instant on, dim able and a lot brighter. Just a thought
Carl, the bulb came with the fixture. I didn't deliberately buy it. That fixture is the one on the old garage door and works with a sensor that goes on at dusk and off at dawn. The fixture that will replace this porch light has a motion sensor. Both are to address security concerns.
