Tuesday morning, it had stopped snowing and, other than my
side street, the roads were clear. I remembered my belt, so things were looking
up!
There was another Alberta Clipper forecasted, but it was not
supposed to hit until about 2:00 PM. The combination of cold and wind was
wicked, though. But, I still went to Home Depot during lunch, to check on some
prices. On the way out of the store, I bought two hot dogs, topped them with mustard and
onions and ate them in the car. I still had time, so I went home and treated
the cats.
The snow held off until about 4:00
PM, so the drive home wasn’t as bad as I had feared. It was a quick-moving storm and we were not
supposed to more than 1-2 inches of snow until it fizzled out.
When I got home after work, I retrieved my garbage can and
then went inside to treat the cats, make a cup of coffee and watch the news and
weather. Wednesday is supposed to be sunny (that would be nice) but another Alberta
clipper is coming on Thursday, this time with predictions of 2-4 inches of
snow.
I had bought a small eggplant for some Italian dish or
another I hadn’t made yet, and I decided I had to either use the eggplant or
throw it out. So, I peeled it, sliced it, dunked it in egg and then breaded it
in flour and fried it up in canola oil for my dinner. Maybe Carl is right and I am turning into my Mother, but I do love fried eggplant!
The snow seemed to have stopped by the time it was full dark
and I doubt we got even an inch. Let’s hope the Thursday clipper turns out the
same.
I watched the last of the news and two taped DIY shows. Then
I watched a movie recommended by Jake: “The
Conversation,” a 1974 American psychological thriller film written,
produced and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. It was gripping and,
I must admit, a little unsettling for a person who lives alone.
I’m not sure Jake thought that one through… or maybe he
did… Hmmm…
I had to watch another DIY show afterwards so that I could
fall asleep…
