March 1st

March didn’t come in like a lion this year. With the wind, occasional snow showers and cold temperatures we had on Friday morning, it was more like a polar bear!

But, both walks were taken outside wearing gloves, hat, scarf and coat. I hated every step.

I had a short shopping list for lunchtime. But, I figured with it being Lent and Friday, it might be better for my soul to eat some fish.

Okay, so that was actually a lie. There were no religious implications involved. Rather than walk to and from stores in this cold, I thought it might be more enjoyable to go get the fish and chips at Time Out and flirt with my favorite waitress. So, that’s what I did.

After getting home after work, I ran through the normal nightly routine and then did the normal Friday night routine: Filling out the Weekend ToDo list and any shopping list needed.

I watched the Nightly News until the phone rang. It was B___, checking in. We mostly talked about the recent storm,  comparing our snow totals and methods of dealing with it.

After we hung up, I warmed up the last two burger patties and ate them on the onion rolls; this time with lettuce, cheese, pickles and a slice of tomato, topped with yellow mustard. It still tasted good, but I admit by then I was tired of burgers!

I watched this week’s taped episode of NCIS and then went to bed around 10:00 PM, snuggling under the covers. I think it was the first time all day I felt warm.
