Tuesday was another beautiful Spring day here in Redford,
at least at the beginning. I didn’t even have to wear a jacket to work!
Michelle from Facilities came by to talk with my boss.
On her way out, she stopped and chatted with me. She said she tried my beef
noodle soup. She really liked the texture of the noodles, but said the soup
itself was not my best! She said she could lie, but thought I wanted the truth.
I said, “No, I don’t want you to lie, I need to know.” So, now I know. It was
probably adding all that extra beef stock. Anyway, I have to work on my beef
noodle recipe, apparently.
I went to the Time Out for lunch and had the blackened
chicken salad. Damn, that was spicy! I drank all my water before I stopped
eating the salad (it was too big to finish).
I called and ordered the mulch I had calculated that I
need this year. They are supposed to drop it off on Wednesday in my driveway
and I am already second guessing ordering as much as I did. But, that’s what my
calculations called for. If I’m lucky, I may have it all spread before winter
comes.
It started to cloud up in the afternoon and the wind
picked up.
When I got home, I took in the empty trash can and
treated the cats. I had a vague idea of going outside before the rain came, but
Jake called and I talked to him instead. It was already sprinkling by the time
we hung up.
So, instead, I sanded the spackling compound on the
wall. The dust was amazing! When I had it smooth, I got out the vacuum cleaner
and sucked up the majority of it. Then I wiped down the wall and baseboard with
a damp rag.
I got out some primer and brushed it on the spackled
spots. Then I quit at 7:30
PM so it could dry.
Vicky had brought me in some Puerto Rican dish for my
dinner. I didn’t get the name of it, but I would describe it as spaghetti made
with pulled chicken and a side of red rice (if that makes any sense). So, I
warmed it up. It was very good and laced with that strange spicy flavor I am
now fond of.
I watched TV until 10:00 PM,
then shut everything down and went to bed. I need my strength for
mulch-spreading…
How many yards? I made the mistake of getting 9 yards dumped behind the house. Kids/GrandKids helped until bored...I was still moving it 6 weeks later.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO not making me feel any more confident! 24 yards...
