I woke up before the alarm on Thursday, so I thought I would use the
time to my advantage. I left early and went to Meijer’s to get some Ivory soap.
I parked near the grocery entrance so I could just pop in and pop out. But when
I went to the aisle where the bar soap is, it wasn’t there! The sign was still up,
though. WTF? I finally found a store guy and asked. He said they had moved it to
the pharmacy, which is at the opposite corner at the opposite end of the store.
So, after a long walk, I finally checked out and went to work.
It was another beautiful day, BTW.
I went to Best Buy at lunch to do some shopping. Then I stopped
and got a roast beef sandwich with horsey sauce at Arby’s. I took that back to
work to eat my lunch.
When I got home after work, I changed clothes, opened
windows and went outside. I moved all the rocks that surround the tree garden
out about a foot, supplementing them with a few new rocks. Then I filled in the
new area with more mulch. I took that from the pile in front of the garage door,
so I can now back the mower out when it's time. The garden looked much nicer as the mulch and
grass had more or less covered the rocks before.
Then I got the rake and started smoothing out some of the
dirt I had spread around with the Bobcat. I worked until my back began to hurt. It was after 7:00 PM when I got back
in the house.
I found the Caesar salad dressing (the container was behind
something else and I didn’t see it yesterday). So, I made up a big salad for my
dinner.
I was working at the kitchen counter and noticed small branches were
falling from the maple. Hmmm… the wind is light. What’s going on? So. I went to
the office and looked out that window so I could see the tree better. There was
a squirrel building a new nest way up in the crotch. He would run out to the
very edges of different branches and nip off the ends. Some he grabbed and took
back to his build site. Some weren’t caught and were littering my lawn. It was neat,
as I don’t think I ever saw a squirrel nest being made before.
I worked on the computer for quite some time and then switched to
TV. Eventually, I switched to bedtime.
