The roads weren’t any better going into work this morning. I
left a half hour early and drove cautiously down Plymouth Road. Nobody was
there before 8:00 a.m. except for me…
I called Pat’s Sewer Cleaning (my old friends) and arranged
for them to come at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday (it’s a little early in the year to
be using up vacation days).
It was still snowing at lunchtime, so I just drove to the
Time Out and had a bowl of mushroom and beef barley soup. The temperature kept
falling all day and the winds picked up. At times you didn’t know if it was
snowing, or just the winds blowing the light snow around.
It was just as bad driving home: still no plowing or salting
(although I think it was too damn cold for the salt to work).
The nice thing was when I finally got home (I took Plymouth
Road again. No way was I gonna get on the E-way after New Year’s Day!) my
neighbor Rick had plowed out my driveway! I have good neighbors!!
I changed into my robe and slippers and watched the news. When
I got hungry, I made a can of Campbell’s Bean with Bacon soup. I watched Masterpiece
Mysteries on PBS (Sherlock Holmes) and went to bed at 10:30 p.m.
Sidebar: It was 9 degrees F. at that point, and we are
supposed to be at – 4 degrees by 7:00 a.m. Not wind chill, either. A true – 4 degrees
with a wind chill of – 15 (the wind is still around 13-15 mph).
Oh yeah, we have seven inches of snow here on the ground in
Redford. And, we are expecting to get another 3-6 inches of snow on Sunday. Sigh…
So, did it fit?
ReplyDeleteDude, I'm waiting for Saturday morning and the sewer cleaning. I can't wash clothes (I'm out of underwear and had to go commando today) and the bedding needs a wash. They have changed the predicted snow totals to 6-10 inches, so I got all day Sunday (and maybe Monday) to work on the dishwasher. Patience, my man. I am gonna MAKE it fit!
ReplyDeleteRight-o. Will check in again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThat would be 6 - 8 inches...bro
ReplyDeleteThis morning they are saying 8-10 inches! I wish they'd shut up!
ReplyDeleteBeing snowed in would give you some time to work on that dishwasher.
