It was cool and a little foggy on Thursday morning, going
into work. But the weatherman said it wouldn’t rain. And, it never did.
But it was cloudy all day until about 6:00 p.m.
I went to Time Out for lunch and had a bowl of potato and
ham soup. One thing I gotta say, Joe (the cook) makes fantastic soups!
When I got home from work, I went out in the garage. It was
time to start installing the front license plate on the bike. So, I put a wide
strip of masking tape on the front fender.
Now, I do need to take the front wheel off (mostly to reach
the nuts to tighten them). But I decided I could at least drill the pilot holes
safely with the wheel on.
So, I used the actual license plate to mark the correct distance
between the two holes. Then I used the dress-making tape from my sewing kit (so
I could bend it easily around the fender) and marked the middle of the fender.
I only left about 3/8ths of an inch of a small drill
sticking out from the chuck (so I wouldn’t hit the tire – that would be bad) and
drilled the pilot holes. I stopped at that point.

I walked around the front yard and took a few photos. One of
the fully blossomed clematis (for my Brother Carl) and one of the porch planter which is filling out nicely. The spirea is starting to blossom, but I decided to wait until
more blooms have come.
Then I walked out back (without the camera) and checked out
things. That damn Virginia creeper (that I had pulled off the wall) is back on
the wall and busy choking everything in the rear garden out. I may have to get all
medieval on it.
Back inside, I ate my boxed supper. Let me explain: A
supplier came and had a meeting with some of the staff and there were several
Jimmy John boxed lunches left over. So, I took one home. I snagged a turkey one
(my favorite). Unfortunately, it had lettuce and not the optional sprouts on it
and no cheese, but it was free!
So, I ate the sandwich and pickle for dinner (I already ate
the chips at work, knowing the sandwich would fill me up) and had the chocolate
chunk cookie for dessert.
I checked the TV menu and decided to go to Netflix and watch
another Sherlock show before bedtime.

Flowers are filling out nicely! Yard is looking good.
ReplyDeletequestion: Why do you need a front plate on a bike?
Thanks! I don't "need" a front license plate, of course. It's just that the old British bikes (a least the ones in England and Europe) had them, so I "want" one as well.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess that settles that!!!!
