Monday

It was warm and muggy on Monday morning, with the threat of rain (according to the forecast). I left the walker home and took the cane instead.

I only used the cane when walking outside or after sitting a while.

I went to the now-reopened Newburgh Grille for lunch. I got a cup of beef vegetable soup and a patty melt.

The afternoon passed slowly, although I was quite busy.

Back at home, I changed clothes and watered the container plants (it never did rain here). Then I went inside and assembled all the trash for tomorrow’s pickup.

I sat in the living room, reading in my chair. I dozed off and woke up around 8:30 p.m. I freaked, thinking I’d overslept and it was morning! I raced out to the kitchen to start getting ready and then saw the fireflies. Wait a minute. There’s no fireflies in the morning!

Sidebar: I tried to take a video of the fireflies for my brother Carl on Sunday. But the twilight messed with it. I could see them, but the camera couldn’t. I thought I’d wait a bit when it was darker, but when I went back out, they were gone. Sorry, Carl. Come visit and you can see them.

I warmed up the rest of the lasagna for dinner. I added a ton of mozzarella on top and it tasted right.

I watched a couple of taped shows and then went to bed at 10:00 p.m.
