Wednesday, and I'm baaaccckkk!

Captain K is officially back online. Website work continues, of course. Last I heard, I still need a front page, you can't post comments yet and I can't post recipes. But, be patient! It's coming!

Well, I figured out what to do about the suction device on the hobby vise. I bought a smooth 12 x 12 marble floor tile and a cheap router at lunch. So, I plan to inset the tile into the workbench top when I get home.

The vacuum cleaner store called and my filter is in, so I have to pick that up on the way home as well.

Arriving home, I change clothes and get the shop vacuum up and running (I will need it for all the sawdust. I do NOT plan on moving that table again (ever)! My back still hurts!!

So I put together the cheap router (Let me explain that. the cheapest router like it in a name brand or a regular store would cost you around $100. I got this on sale for $19.95. It was made in China (don't tell my Mom)and will fall apart, I'm sure, but if it lasts through this one application I will be happy). I nailed up some guides and went to work. Now, routing out a 12 inch x 12 inch spot about 1/4 deep with a 1/4 inch wide bit takes a while. So, I worked and I worked. A couple of the times things loosened and caused me grief. But, by doing two or three cuts at a time and vacuuming it out, I made good progress.

I quit around 8:00 PM with about three inches to go. I was tired, so I just made up a couple tortilla pizzas and watched TV until going to bed.
